LedgerWorks (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides automated accounting software for freelancers, independent contractors, and the teams that work with them. We are part of the Work Ambitions ecosystem.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, waitlist, contact forms, and any LedgerWorks products or services we offer now or in the future.
By using LedgerWorks, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with LedgerWorks. We only collect what we need to operate the service, communicate with you, and improve the product.
- Account and profile information — such as your name, email address, business name, and sign-in credentials when you create an account or join our waitlist.
- Contact information — when you reach out through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject line, and message content.
- Financial and business data — when you use LedgerWorks, we process information you connect or upload, including contracts, invoices, income, expenses, payment records, tax-related categories, and reports you generate. This data is core to the accounting features you use.
- Usage and technical data — such as device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, and interactions with the product. We use this to keep the service secure, diagnose issues, and understand how features are used.
- Communications — records of support requests, product updates you receive, and feedback you choose to share with us.
How we use your information
We use personal information to deliver and improve LedgerWorks, including:
- Providing automated bookkeeping, contract sync, invoicing, expense categorization, dashboards, and tax-ready reporting.
- Operating the waitlist and sending launch updates, early-access invitations, and service announcements you have opted into.
- Responding to contact-form submissions and customer support requests.
- Securing accounts, preventing fraud and abuse, and maintaining the reliability of our systems.
- Analyzing aggregated usage to improve features, fix bugs, and plan new functionality.
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms of service.
AI and automated processing
LedgerWorks uses automated systems, including AI-assisted tools, to categorize expenses, sync contract data into accounting entries, and surface insights in your dashboard. These processes operate on the financial and business data you provide or connect to the service.
Automated processing is designed to reduce manual bookkeeping work. You remain responsible for reviewing your records and ensuring they are accurate for your tax and compliance needs. We do not use your private financial data to train public AI models.
Work Ambitions ecosystem
LedgerWorks is part of the Work Ambitions ecosystem. If you use LedgerWorks alongside other Work Ambitions products, or choose to embed LedgerWorks within that platform, we may share information between services as needed to provide a connected experience — for example, syncing contract or project data into your books.
Data shared within the ecosystem is handled under this policy and the privacy terms of the relevant Work Ambitions services you use.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted vendors who help us host infrastructure, store data, send email, provide analytics, or support security. They may access information only to perform services on our behalf and must protect it.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of LedgerWorks, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to continued privacy protections.
- With your direction — when you ask us to share data, connect an integration, or export reports to a third party.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Waitlist and contact-form data is kept until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or we no longer need it for the purpose it was collected.
Financial records you store in LedgerWorks may be retained according to your account settings and applicable legal or tax record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your account data subject to limitations where we must retain certain records by law.
Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring for unauthorized activity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also:
- Unsubscribe from marketing or waitlist emails using the link in any message we send.
- Update account details within LedgerWorks when those settings are available.
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold about you.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how some features work.
International users
LedgerWorks may be operated from jurisdictions outside your country. If you use the service from outside that region, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards when information crosses borders.
Children’s privacy
LedgerWorks is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of LedgerWorks after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
